Brilliant teenage reading group wiki from Portsmouth libraries but anyone can join in. It's got a reading group (obviously), book and film reviews, forums, RSS feeds... And as it's a wiki you can add your own pages.

Spine Breakers - UK based - aimed at teens

Spine Breakers is a fab idea - only wish I'd thought of it first (plus had the resources!). It's a book site aimed at teens where you can get truly interactive - you can upload videos you've made as book trailers, make a playlist for your books, design new covers, or just read author interviews and find out about author events. It's run by publisher Puffin so it's gonna be a bit biased but, hey, still cool!

Amazon - Global - a handy resource for everyone!

Amazon is brilliant. Not only can you buy almost any book, often super cheap (although I'd ask you to think twice about getting second-hand copies as the authors get nothing!), and get them delivered next-day, you can also rate and review books, learn more about your favourite books, search for new books to read, get similar books to those you like recommended to you, be active on forums, look inside books... It's endless! And how long can it really be before we're all reading e-books anyway?

Achuka - UK based - Aimed at adults

Just look at this cute little thing! Achuka covers kids as well as teen fiction. It's bright and cheery and as they like to say..."It's the Chock-Full, Eyes-Peeled, Independent Children's Books Site that has something for everyone..." A dedicated and well-resourced site for insider info!

Teen Reads - US based - Aimed at teens

Teenreads.com is a very good American site that is packed with goodies for teenage book lovers. It is based in the US so not all the books will be available in the UK but lots are, or will be soon. I defy you to find a series not listed! It's amazing!!

Children's Book Sequels - UK based - Aimed at everyone

Children's Book Sequels is a UK site which is similar to the Bettendorf Public Library in that it aims to provide a comphrensive list of what comes next in book series'. Because it's UK based it lists books only available in the UK, some that the US hasn't even heard off, such as Karen McCombie's Ally's World etc. It also has links to series/author websites. Bookburger is a very funky and fun american site, for "hungry readers ages 14 to 24. Reviews, news, contests, and deliciousness of all sorts. Take a bite."

Sharyn's site - US based - Aimed at everyone

Sharyn is an utterly, utterly mad woman with way too much spare time on her hands - but hasn't she used it well? This is absolutely the best web resource for further links that I have come across for childrens/teen fiction. Quick to download too as there are basically no graphics (except the one shown!?!)

Fun Links

Librarian Dress-up

Whoever said librarians were old and boring had no idea what they were talking about. I mean check out Librarian Dress-up, where you can dress up your own librarian in a range of funky outfits! There's even a cat-woman suit. Wicked.

Hero Machine

This is cool. Design your own characters with the smart, interactive Hero Machine. I designed this lovely picture of what my feisty female character, Catherine Lock, might look like.

Neopets

Do not go here. I'm serious! If you visit the Neopets site and start adopting cute animals to play with and teach and buy things for, IT WILL TAKE OVER YOUR LIFE! You have been warned.

Mini-Mizer

Lego-tastic. If you love Lego then this is for you. With Mini-mizer you can create your own lego characters. I made a stunning picture of myself. I look good in yellow, no?

City Creator

My God, I am so sad! I can spend hours playing with this excellent City Creator Building it all, house by house, imagining how happy all the people are. Jeez! Somebody stop me already!

ART GAMES

For your interactive pleasure here's a collection of art-related games that I've stumbled across while doing important research (cough!) for my 'Catherine Lock, Art Restorer' books.

Artie's Studio

Loads a games here, mainly aimed at 4-12yrs but I still liked them. My fav is the American colour theory game, and I defy ANY 4-12yr who can do the sculpture quiz! It's really hard. You can also view it in Spanish - possible Spanish exam revision? Any excuse.

BBC Art Personality Test

Check out this fun survey to see whether there's a connection between your personality type and the art that you like.

Jackson Pollock Canvas

Get creative Jackson Pollock style (that means loads of spashes of seemingly random paint) with this arty time-waster. Fun but utterly, utterly pointless. TIP: To change the colour of your paintbrush, just click your mouse.

Artedventures

Designed for all ages. The menu may look a bit basic, but it's good fun when you get going. The art of crime detection game is totally impossible though.

Kelley Links ~ Totally random stuff that rocks my world

Didn't expect that did you? Click to see more like this.

Catwoman Stuff

If you don't know already, I'm a BIG Catwoman fan. I have a scarily large collection of useless tat that I totally love. Sadly all my favourite catwoman sites seem to have gone, but there is still plenty to surf - might wanna start on Wikipedia.

I got the wicked little animated gif from this guy.

Environmental Stuff

Finally we're paying attention to our effect on the planet. But remember it's REDUCE, REUSE and then RECYCLE!

Friends of the Earth is a UK based environmental organisation working towards a greener future for our planet. They aren't very radical but they do get things done and I am proud to be a member.

I'm sure you've heard of Greenpeace. They are an international environmental organisation which is known for its radical actions in defence of our planet. I am a member of this organisation too, although I sometimes cringe at their bravado - probably something to do with me being British!
